Kay Ridge is an accomplished artist with 25 years of experience, residing on the picturesque Sunshine Coast. Originally trained in the delicate medium of pastels, Kay has since transitioned to acrylics, where she has found a new avenue to express her creativity. Her artistic style, characterized as naive art, is known for its simplicity, charm, and vibrant colours. Kay's work often captures the whimsical and joyful aspects of life, drawing viewers into a world of imagination and wonder.

Inspired by my coastal surroundings, I aim to capture the vibrant essence of the ocean in my resin creations. Aerial photographs of the sea serve as my inspiration, guiding me to create multi-layered pieces that offer glimpses through the waves themselves.

The Out and About Art Group is a group of like-minded artists who meet each week at various localities across the Sunshine Coast. Our members come from diverse artistic backgrounds and experiences, ranging from formal training to self-taught. Our paintings range from realism to abstraction, using experimental and traditional methods and a variety of media. Our exhibition’s focus highlights the natural characteristics of the local flora and landforms.
