Each limited-edition canvas is recorded in the Ilana McBain Registry of Authenticity & Provenance and supplied with a signed Certificate of Authenticity identifying the artwork and its individual edition number.
The registry maintains a private record of provenance throughout the life of the work. If ownership changes in the future, the new collector can be registered with the Studio and an updated record of provenance issued.

Salt, Sugar and the Sea came from one of those wonderfully simple summer pleasures — hot skin, salty air and an ice cream melting faster than you can eat it.
I loved the contrast of it all: the cool blue sunglasses against the red-and-white beach stripes, the oversized hoops, the pink ice cream, and that slightly unapologetic confidence of someone completely absorbed in the moment. It is playful, glamorous and a little cheeky, which is exactly what I wanted.
There is nostalgia in it too. It reminds me of old beach holidays when everything felt brighter, louder and somehow more carefree. You did not need much — sunshine, the sea, something sweet, and nowhere urgent to be.
That is really what this piece is about for me: enjoying life while it is happening. Not saving the good dress, the good mood or the ice cream for another day.
I think that is why I keep returning to beach and coastal subjects in my work. They give me permission to use bold colour, humour and personality, and to paint the feeling of freedom rather than simply the place.
Salt, Sugar and the Sea is my version of summer at its best — a little salty, a little sweet, and completely alive.
